SULLA ROTTA DELLE SPEZIE
La mostra è composta da oltre 70 fotografie
dei maghi dell'obiettivo di National Geographic
e arricchita da antiche mappe, opere
e un'installazione che evoca un suq. Il percorso
illustra le principali tappe delle rotte marittime,
i mercanti e i mercati, per poi approfondire
alcuni aromi in sezioni specifiche: peperoncino,
zenzero, noce moscata, zafferano, vaniglia,
chiodi di garofano…
/ The exhibition consists of more than 70
photographs of master photographers of National
Geographic and it is enriched by ancient maps,
artworks and an installation which evokes
a souk. The itinerary illustrates the main stages
of the shipping routes, the merchants
and the markets, and it dedicates specific sections
to the exploration of some spices: chili pepper,
ginger, nutmeg, saffron, vanilla, cloves...

ARTE ALLE CORTI
Pensate ad un’opera d’arte contemporanea
e ad un cortile barocco. Ora immaginate
che l’opera venga armoniosamente inserita
nel cortile. Un colpo d’occhio di indubbia
bellezza estetica. E’ una mostra-percorso
che si sviluppa all’aperto nelle corti
e nei giardini di sette grandi palazzi della città.
Si potranno ammirare grandi installazioni
site-specific e sculture che dialogano
con la bellezza dell’architettura barocca
torinese con sorprendenti effetti
di valorizzazione reciproca.

Now imagine that the work of art
is harmoniously situated in the courtyard.
It’s certainly a sight of indisputable aesthetic
beauty. It is an outdoor exhibition taking
a route through the courtyards and gardens
of seven major palaces in the city where
there will be great site-specific installations
and sculptures interacting with the beauty
of Turin’s baroque architecture
to the surprising benefit of both.

MODUS VIVENDI
Un’esposizione di vetture diventate mitiche
per aver compiuto viaggi incredibili.
Alcune hanno attraversato il mondo intero
e hanno viaggiato per anni, altre hanno
solcato i continenti da nord a sud,
in condizioni climatiche estreme e in tempi
da record. Ogni vettura racconta una storia
emozionante, un viaggio alla scoperta di
mondi e culture distanti e differenti.
/ An exhibition of cars that have become
legendary by having made incredible
journeys. Some have crossed the entire
world, travelling for years, while others have
just crossed continents from north to south,
in extreme weather conditions and in record
time. Each car tells a gripping story,
of a journey for discovering distant, different
worlds and cultures.

FRAMMENTI DI UN
PAESAGGIO SMISURATO
La relazione tra fotografia e paesaggio è una
relazione centrale per la cultura italiana e non
solo. Attraverso il paesaggio si costruisce e
si è costruita l’identità nazionale dei singoli
Paesi e delle singole culture. La cultura
positivista del XIX secolo ha trovato nella
fotografia lo strumento più adeguato ed
efficace per soddisfare le crescenti necessità di
una conoscenza analitica del mondo. Queste
considerazioni sono alla base del percorso
espositivo della mostra, che propone le origini
della montagna in fotografia e la costruzione
del suo immaginario attraverso frammenti di
un paesaggio smisurato di terre alte.
/ The relationship between photography and
landscape is of great importance to the culture
of Italy and beyond: the national identity of
individual Countries and individual cultures
is and has been built through their landscapes.
The positivist culture of the 19th century found
photography to be the best and most effective
means for meeting the growing need for an
analytical understanding of the world. These
considerations form the basis of the display
path of the exhibition, featuring the origins of
mountain photography and the construction
of its imagery through fragments of an endless
landscape in the highlands.
