PREGARE.
UN’ESPERIENZA UMANA
La mostra Pregare. Un’esperienza umana
racconta la preghiera attraverso oggetti,
immagini, video e opere provenienti
da musei di tutto il mondo. Il pubblico
è invitato ad entrare in questi mondi
attraverso gli oggetti che aiutano la preghiera,
i suoni e le musiche che l'accompagnano,
gli odori dei fumi di incensi e mirre,
la partecipazione agli stessi riti nella
profondità di una multiproiezione avvolgente.
/ The exhibition Praying. A Human
Experience narrates the prayer through
objects, images, videos and works coming
from museums all around the world.
The public is encouraged to enter these worlds
through the objects that help prayer,
the sounds and the music that accompany
them, the smell of incense and myrrh,
the participation in these rites in the depths
of an all-encompassing multi-projection.

COMPIANTO
SUL CRISTO MORTO
DEL BEATO ANGELICO
Il "Compianto" si troverà dunque
in una posizione suggestiva: esattamente
sotto la Sindone esposta in Cattedrale.
Pur in assenza di una relazione diretta
fra il quadro e l'immagine del Telo
ci richiamano con forza a quel "vedere"
che è il centro del pellegrinaggio sindonico.
L'intera ostensione ci riporta a questo:
contemplare la Passione e la morte
di Gesù Cristo non come momento
di fruizione estetica, ma forte richiamo
a riflettere sul senso della nostra vita,
e della nostra morte.
/ The painting "Compianto" by Beato Angelico
will be exposed in the Cathedral just below
the Shroud. Although there is not a direct
relationship between the painting and the holy
image of the Cloth, the juxtaposition forcefully
reminds us the act of "seeing" which
is the center of the pilgrimage to the Shroud.
The entire exposition aims to make
us contemplate the Passion and death
of Jesus Christ not as a moment of aesthetic
enjoyment, but as a reflection on the meaning
of our life and our death.

UMBERTO MASTROIANNI,
TRA COSCIENZA CIVILE
E SPIRITO DEL SACRO
La mostra, che presenta più di cinquanta
capolavori, promossa dal Museo Diocesano
e dall'Associazione Stars, è realizzata grazie
alla Consulta per la valorizzazione dei Beni
Artistici e Culturali di Torino, con il contributo
della Fondazione CRT e della Reale Mutua
Assicurazioni. E' curata da Floriano De Santi,
Direttore dell'Archivio Umberto Mastroianni
di Brescia. L'evento si inquadra nell'ambito
delle manifestazioni legate alla Solenne
Ostensione della Sacra Sindone.
/ The exhibition documents, although
in an inevitably concise manner, the whole
creative itinerary of Umberto Mastroianni,
Fontana Liri's master. It includes bronzes,
of absolute value, as if hitherto unpublished
or rarely exhibited, crockery, wood, lead
and copper creations, glasses, mosaics,
tapestries, scratched cartons, works on paper,
jutes, etc., all materials used by the artist.
